It is with great pleasure that we publish the final report of the first series of focus groups held in 2014. These meetings were held for the purpose of drafting the storyline for each of the four stories. Discussions and feedback helped us create a more inclusive narrative which shall continue to develop and evolve over time. The final report can be found on this link.
MUŻA is a participatory project involving a broad range of stakeholders and communities. The storyline has been written and developed with a broad participatory approach thanks to these purposely-convened focus groups chaired by externals who were also entrusted with proposing participants to the group. The discussion, chaired by the chosen external would not
include members from the MUŻA curatorial team or its staff who would instead observe the process and the ways and means how the discussion unfolds. Minutes of each meeting were discussed and reviewed by chair and participants. This methodology was purposely chosen to promote inclusivity, reduce bias and set the groundwork for community curation.
As a participatory museum, MUŻA aspires to continuously engage with stakeholders and communities to become an inclusive national-community art museum accessible to all sectors of Maltese society.
